Today on work placement at Matt Style Salon I worked on colouring a clients hair.Yesterday was my day off, I went around some places here in Tenerife, i was walking in fabulous street actually, lots of shops lots of coffee shops and restaurants. It wasn’t that sunny but still so nice and warm to have a perfect walk, the life style is amazing here the people enjoying the great weather same as me, And I noticed something so funny that there’s no traffic lights at all in this area, so the cars have to stop when there’s someone passing pedestrian crossing.

We arrived in Tenerife on Sunday as part of our Erasmus+ placement. Once we settled in to our apartment I then took time to explore the area and got familiar with my surroundings. Afterwards I went to the beach where I enjoyed the sun and took in culture on offer. In the evening we all went for a nice meal and got to know each other a little more, which was nice.
On my second day in Tenerife I was shown where my placement would be and it was also my first day of work. I am located with in a five minute walk of my placement which is great. Upon my arrival I was greeted with the spa manager. She showed me around the spa, which is beautiful and I was excited to start and put into practice the skills that I had already developed. I showed clients around the spa in the morning and preformed treatments in the evening. There is a language barrier between one of the therapist's and myself, however we were able to communicate well and I am looking forward to learning some more Spanish and exploring the local culture. Overall I am delighted with my placement and I am enjoying my experience, and look forward to what tomorrow has in store. -Caitriona Today was my first day at work here in Tenerife where I am based in a hair salon. I went with Ann and Teresa this morning at a fabulous hotel here in Tenerife called 'Bahia Principe'. It’s such a gorgeous hotel. My first day was full of happiness, we even met a nice woman at the hotel and she too was sharing the idea of happiness with the guests! From here we went to visit my work place where we met with the salon owner. She is very nice and I look forward to working for her. I also had the opportunity to do a gents haircut. My client today was an English man and he was so happy with his haircut, this made me feel so happy and confident in what I do. After this I the gave the owner a haircut. Overall the day was such a success and a great start to my Erasmus+ learning experience.
